Men’s Retreats
Retreats are big big big spiritual energy and have a lot of emotional downloads. People shift a lot of material and have big openings. The experience is very individualized and personal, so each group teaches me more and helps me grow. I make everyone who comes teach something to everyone else for at least an hour. Everyone is a teacher here, because the experience is about empowerment and self mastery as much as it is about connection. Often we start practice at 5:30am and go until 9pm with a mix of singing, chanting, exercises and talks, and folks stay up hours later, filled with the energy, talking into the night. Part of the fun is being tired in a good way — it lets the energies move. The thing I've been happiest about is that the retreat focuses on seva, the energy of service. Cooking, cleaning, taking care of each other — it's all vital to the atmosphere and the download.

Retreats offer a wide variety of activities — each retreat has its own theme. Some are more focused on masculinity and relationship, while others on realization and bliss. Retreats are generally structured with three sessions of approximately 2.5 hours each, spread throughout the day. On breaks, different activities are planned such as hikes, temple visits, workouts, or meditations.
During session time, Tom may talk about his guru, the nature of reality, or God, and lead participants through different practices to love the mind and sink deeper into devotion, bliss, and freedom. In addition to spiritual practice, interpersonal conflicts are discussed and resolved, leading to a deeper connection and growth between all participants.
The core of retreats is staying in the energy and taking care of each other. Lifelong friends are made, and each attendee goes back to their daily life with a new perspective about the world and an uplift of energy and optimism.
