This past weekend I had the incredible opportunity to help Thomas Whigham run a 3 day men’s retreat, and what I saw and learned there has left me forever changed. There are hardly words to describe my joyful astonishment at witnessing Thomas guide five amazing young men deeper into their spiritual practice while imparting priceless emotional and social skills. The courage, vulnerability, and humility displayed by my fellow attendees blew me away as we became a little family, growing and evolving by resolving our conflicts with tenderness and compassion and performing continuous acts of loving service to one another throughout the weekend. Experiences like these are truly once in a lifetime. Everyone who had the privilege to attend walked away changed for the better in unexpected ways, and though we may live far apart from each other I have little doubt our new bonds of friendship will stand the test of time.
