guardians of the galaxy 2: it's pretty. it's got this (suppposed to be ecstatic, but instead feels like make up covering an aging face) gloss and that mind blowing color palate (it isn't trying to be revolutionary but it also isn't really a relevant homage at this point). it's empty, in the way that zoe saldana's acting is; eactly in the way that zoe saldana's acting is to thandie newton's acting.
the NBA draft: every team gets better on draft day. its the kind of everyone gets a trophy everyone wins day where you get to be measured in your appreciation and still weigh out some cool what ifs and opportunity cost analysis. in the end tho, even in a "deep draft" which I hear every year, this could easily be a bust draft. my guess, when the number 1 and 2 picks are point guards, is that this draft has some gems, but no all world talent in the first 4 picks. like this wasn't the year 2010's had a KD or a LeBron. this is my guess, based on odds, not on looking at the class.
as for the teams: the Celtics are getting a pass on this in a way I don't like. last year and this year they drafted poorly in my opinion. it wasn't excusable just because they could use a guy "like" Jalen brown, and now it's worse not taking fultz for this guy who has all the isolation moves of an NBA player at a remarkablyyoung age but may not have the lift and savvy to pull it off. basically, the Celtics just drafted 2017 Adrian dantley and he could be in the hall or he will be worse than igram last year.
